Evergreen names Norfolk Southern “Railroad of the Year” for outstanding, reliable intermodal service

At $40 billion, the North American intermodal market is the largest in the world, and globally, 95 percent of all manufactured goods are moved in a container at some point in their supply chain journey. Intermodal shipping networks include third-party logistics providers, trucking companies, ocean carriers, container ports, and, of course, railroads. All entities must work together to provide shared customers with end-to-end intermodal services.

A key player in intermodal, Evergreen Line is a global shipping line utilized by many of the world’s leading e-commerce giants. The company owns 211 vessels, offers over 150 weekly services, serves over 300 ports of entry worldwide, and owns or operates 17 seaport terminals. Norfolk Southern is a proud transportation partner to Evergreen, and, each year, Evergreen trusts Norfolk Southern to carry more than 91,000 shipments.

Considering things like on-time delivery, ease of doing business, shipment integrity, sustainability, and more, Evergreen recently named Norfolk Southern “Railroad of the Year” for the company’s outstanding service and reliability in 2023.

With 54 intermodal terminals, more than 54 port and 270 short line connections, and a strategic footprint in 22 states, Norfolk Southern offers the most extensive intermodal franchise in the East. Our partners rely on our powerful network to complete their supply chain.
