Loeb shared insights on Norfolk Southern’s balanced approach to enhancing service and driving growth. One year since its inception, our newly restructured Business Development and First and Final Mile Markets division has been pivotal in maximizing efficient solutions. Designed with our customers in mind, this division combines Short Line and Field Sales, Trucking and Rail Integrated Solutions, Triple Crown Services, Inc., Short Line Performance, Industrial Development, Real Estate, and Market Research and Forecasts. The strategic realignment ensures that anyone can increase their business or become a rail customer with our seamless end-to-end supply chain solutions.
During the chat, Loeb and Kingston discussed the critical role of industry collaboration in creating efficient supply chains. Loeb emphasized that At Norfolk Southern, we are fully committed to revolutionizing the way businesses perceive and utilize rail. For example, our reimagined Triple Crown Services, Inc. subsidiary develops innovative trucking solutions that, when combined with our expansive rail network, make rail a more accessible and attractive option for shippers that may not have direct access to rail. Loeb also talked about how our data-driven Short Line Performance team is ensuring consistent interchange service, fostering growth through meticulous carload tracking and increased communication on exchanges.
By integrating trucking and rail solutions, offering end-to-end logistics, and maintaining a customer-centric approach, we are solidifying rail as a viable, sustainable, and efficient option for any business now and into the future.
