Norfolk Southern recognized as 2022 Railroad of the Year by intermodal industry experts

C.H. Robinson has named Norfolk Southern as their 2022 Railroad of the Year. C.H. Robinson is an intermodal solutions provider, and their annual awards have recognized carriers, railroads, vendors, and others in the industry for nearly two decades. Each year, they select the Railroad of the Year based on ease of doing business, partnership approach, and ability to grow together. Norfolk Southern was recognized for its teamwork, integrity, transparency, and a vision for growth as indicators for the railroad’s esteemed designation and future success.

“C.H. Robinson is proud to recognize Norfolk Southern as our 2022 Railroad of the Year,” said C.H. Robinson Vice President, Intermodal Tim Humbert. “Norfolk Southern has demonstrated a strategic vision to promote Intermodal growth while fostering innovative approaches to today’s supply chain challenges.”

Hubert further stated, “Their entire team acted with a high degree of transparency and integrity while assisting us in servicing the asks of our customers.”

Norfolk Southern’s Intermodal network and team are critical to the company’s long-term success and plans for growth. In a look to the future, Norfolk Southern EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Ed Elkins recently shared a comment with CNBC about the importance of our Intermodal franchise:

“Strategic corridor investments and the opening of a dozen new intermodal facilities since 2014 have created the capacity and productivity to support volume growth on our network. As the global economy becomes even more reliant on the East Coast for supply chain needs, we see great possibility for smart, sustainable growth, and our customer-centric, operations-driven approach is going to help us deliver for our customers and the marketplace.”
