Norfolk Southern President and CEO Alan Shaw, along with a team of senior leaders from Marketing and Operations visited the rail network’s Blue Ridge Division last week to meet with customers and connect with Norfolk Southern team members, like Conductor Chris Williamson and Engineer Sandy Alexander, who are based in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Shaw shared this comment in reflection:

We’re investing in our employees, and charting a better way forward for Norfolk Southern and the rail industry. Our railroaders recognize the investments we’re making, and they are confident in our future. In turn, they’re helping to safely deliver a reliable and resilient service product. Our customers recognize that, and they’re relying on our ability to execute to help them grow their businesses.
 
A better way forward is not just a strategy, it is an attitude – it’s motivating our entire company. After being on the ground in Greensboro, NC, last week, I’m even more excited about the future of Norfolk Southern.
