NS hosts Family Day celebrations in Ohio

As part of our appreciation for our railroaders, and in recognition of their hard work and dedication, we hosted Family Day celebrations in Toledo and Bellevue, Ohio.

Both weekend events in September included fun filled experiences for railroaders and their families. The Toledo celebration featured broadcasts of local football games and food trucks. While a dunk booth, bracelet making station, and train rides were available at Bellevue. The local fire department was also on hand to demonstrate how to use the jaws of life.

Both venues featured face painting, balloon twisting, locomotive tours, and bounce houses. Giveaway items were provided by Norfolk Southern’s various Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Experience team. There were also special performances by our own band, The Lawmen.

“Family Day is about all about thanking our railroaders for the many contributions they make to powering the American economy,” Rob Sarver, Great Lakes Division Superintendent. “These events offered something for everyone and were a great opportunity for our railroaders and their families to have fun and create lasting memories.”
